Rafael is an experienced chief financial officer, non-executive director and accredited advisor. A qualified accountant with a MBA and a graduate of the AICD, he combines strategic insight with strong technical financial knowledge to help businesses of all sizes become more profitable – often engaging as a ‘virtual CFO’, M&A / integration advisor or on an advisory board. Rafael was a 40under40 winner in 2020.

Rafael has worked globally across a number of industries, including healthcare, fintech, banking, television, agriculture, media and education, and serves on the board of various private companies and NFPs, including StartupWA, Perth Angels and Techboard.

Rafael’s clients have included ELMO Software (ASX 300), icetana (ASX-listed), Funderbeam (European fintech of the year 2017), CSIRO and APE Mobile (through to acquisition by Damstra). A tech entrepreneur, angel investor and venture partner, Rafael writes on topics relevant to startups and SMEs, and advises companies on topics ranging from M&A integration to crowdfunding.
